About

Dr. Wilhoit received a B.A. in Interior Design from Freed-Hardeman University and from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Science in Interior Design-Historic Preservation emphasis and a Ph.D. in Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism with Consumer Behavior/Store Environments emphasis.
With over 20 years of interior design practice, her work experience consists of residential design, educational/commercial facilities and custom motor homes.  Her personal education and teaching experience in interior design has been in both private faith-based institutions and state universities.  These include:  The University of Tennessee-Graduate Teaching Assistant; Carson-Newman College-Assistant Professor and Interior Design Program Coordinator; East Tennessee State University, Instructor and Interior Design Program Coordinator; and currently, Harding University-Associate Professor and Director of the Interior Architecture and Design program.  Dr. Wilhoit has taught interior design over 25 years in both studio and lecture courses.
Sarah is a professional member of ASID and has served the South Central Chapter as Professional Development Director, President-Elect, and President.  She also serves IDEC, on the Southwest Regional Council, Grants and Awards Committee Regional Rep and on the Abstract Review Committee. Lastly, she is currently serving as a Program Site Visitor for the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
