I have been a professor of education at Harding University since 1998 and presently serve as Dean of the Cannon-Clary College of Education. My teaching and research interest include education law and ethics; social & cultural foundations of education; philosophy of education; and educational psychology. I have taught at the bachelor's, master's, and doctorate levels in our college.

For over 30 years I have provided professional development as a consultant to thousands of educators around Arkansas and other states. The topics I most often present include: Section 504 disability law; special education law; school culture; classroom management; parent relations; ethics; and school law.

I currently serve as chair of the Arkansas Professional Licensure Standards Board (PLSB) and am past chair of the Arkansas Council of Education Deans. I just completed a 3-year term on the Government Relations and Advocacy committee for the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE) and have served as president of the Arkansas chapter of this national organization.

I am active in my community and church. I have worked with the White County Spelling Bee for over ten years, and I have served as a deacon and elder and continue as a Bible class teacher in my church.

My wife, Gale, and I married in 1987, and we have two children, Kevin and Whitney. Gale is a realtor with Remax in Searcy and also works as Office and Rental Assistant in Physical Resources at Harding University.
