About

The nursing profession has given me many gifts, not least of which are the students I get to teach; I love sharing my passion for the profession with others. I have a wide-variety of experience in healthcare, as I've worked in the ER, in women's health, in a GI lab, in pre-op, in home health and hospice, and in primary care, as a family nurse practitioner. I believe nurses are the beating heart of healthcare around the globe, and they make a real, measurable difference in patient outcomes every day. I currently teach the Intro to Nursing class for all nursing majors and Pharmacology for all our BSN students. I also serve as the clinical coordinator for the FNP program, assist with health assessment labs, as well as clinicals and skills in our fundamentals class. I recently completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Vanderbilt University. My areas of interest in healthcare research include antibiotic stewardship, immunizations and other preventative care, and vocational identity.
