About

Anessa is serving as an Associate Professor of Bible and Ministry and Honors College Faculty Fellow at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. She is a graduate of Harding University (B.A. in psychology), Harding School of Theology (M.A. and M.Div.), New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (graduate certificate in women's ministry), and Fuller Theological Seminary (D.Min.). Her specialties are female spiritual development, women's ministry, and textual studies. She is passionate about helping women discover their gifts. She has written a book on women's ministry titled, Reaching and Discipling Women: A Guide to Women's Ministry in Your Church and has co-written a book on baptism from a discipleship lens titled New Birth. She regularly contributes to Mosaic (published by the Siburt Institute for Church Ministry at Abilene Christian University), and has contributed to other publications as well. She has extensive speaking experience both in the United States and abroad. She will serve as President of the Faculty Leadership Council, having filled a role as an "at large" member before. She and her husband, Tim, served as missionaries to Hungary for eight years before returning to Searcy. She has taught at Harding since 2006, beginning on a part-time basis before joining the Bible faculty full-time in 2014.
