An introduction to the foundational material of chemistry as we explore the world of coffee. Topics include the philosophy of science, the history of coffee, the coffee plant, atoms, acids and bases, caffeine, chemical reactions, coffee roasting, and coffee brewing. Course consists of 2 hours of lecture and one 2-hour lab per week.
